A painted wall does more than cover concrete and plaster. In Pakistani homes, where families spend long summer afternoons indoors and guests are welcomed into drawing rooms with pride, the walls set the mood of the whole space. Wall art and decorative painting lets you go beyond a single flat colour: a hand-painted floral vine climbing up a lounge wall, a geometric accent wall in a bedroom, a calligraphy panel in an entrance hall, or a playful scene in a child’s room. Wellcool brings artists and trained painters together so the creative design and the technical preparation of the wall are handled by the same team.
We work across Punjab, KPK and Islamabad on houses, apartments, offices, cafés, schools and shops. Because many walls in Pakistan suffer from dampness, salt deposits, hairline cracks and peeling old paint, we always inspect and prepare the surface first. Artwork painted on a damp or flaking wall will not last, no matter how skilled the artist. Our approach is simple: fix the wall, prime it correctly, then paint artwork that you will enjoy for years.
Wall art and decorative painting is the use of paint, brushes, stencils, sponges and special tools to create designs, patterns and images directly on a wall. Unlike wallpaper or vinyl stickers, the artwork becomes part of the wall surface itself. It can be as subtle as a two-tone stripe or ombré fade, or as detailed as a full landscape painted by hand. Decorative painting also includes effects such as colour washing, rag rolling, dry brushing and stencilled borders that add character without a large picture.
In Pakistan, decorative painting has a long tradition — from the floral patterns of Mughal-era interiors to the bold colours of truck art. Today, homeowners combine these traditions with modern interior styles: Islamic geometric patterns in prayer areas, minimal line art in apartments, tropical leaves in lounges and soft pastel themes in nurseries. Wellcool helps you choose a style that matches your furniture, lighting and the way you use the room.
Every space is different, but these are the styles our clients in Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Peshawar ask for most often:
Not every wall needs a mural, but many homes have walls that are crying out for attention. Consider decorative painting if you notice any of the following:
Our background in waterproofing means we treat damp, salts and cracks before painting.
You see a sketch or digital mock-up and approve colours before we start.
We use suitable primers and washable, low-odour paints for indoor artwork.
Floors and furniture are covered, and the site is cleaned when we finish.
Our artists sketch the outline directly on the primed wall with chalk or pencil, then build up the colours layer by layer with artist brushes. Freehand work is best for organic designs such as flowers, trees, birds, landscapes and portraits, where each brush stroke adds character that a stencil cannot match.
For repeating motifs — Moroccan tiles, damask, geometric borders, Islamic patterns — we cut or use precise stencils. This gives crisp, uniform shapes across long walls and corridors, and keeps costs reasonable for large areas.
Using painter’s tape and laser levels, we create sharp-edged triangles, mountains, diagonal stripes and colour blocks. Geometric accent walls are popular in bedrooms, TV lounges and offices because they look modern and clean.
Sponging, rag rolling, colour washing and dry brushing create soft, layered backgrounds. These effects are often combined with hand-painted elements, or used alone to give a wall an aged, rustic or Mediterranean feel.
Where the artwork is in a high-touch area — a child’s room, a café wall or a corridor — we can apply a clear, non-yellowing protective varnish so the art can be gently wiped clean.
We check the wall for damp, cracks, salts and old paint, and discuss your ideas.
We prepare sketches or a digital preview with colour options for approval.
Scraping, crack filling, sanding and damp treatment where needed.
A suitable primer and base colour create an even canvas.
Outlines, colours, shading and details are painted by our artists.
Touch-ups, optional clear coat, cleaning and a final walkthrough with you.
Pakistan’s weather is tough on painted walls. During the monsoon, moisture from roofs, bathrooms and the ground can travel into masonry and push paint off from behind, leaving bubbles, white salt crystals (efflorescence) and black fungus spots. In summer, temperatures of 45–50°C in Punjab and parts of KPK cause walls near windows and exterior faces to expand and contract, opening hairline cracks. Dust storms leave fine grit on surfaces that stops paint from bonding.
Before any artwork, we test for moisture, remove loose and chalky paint, treat salts, fill cracks with flexible filler, and seal the wall with an appropriate primer. If we find active seepage, we recommend fixing the source first through leakage and seepage treatment or wall and ceiling waterproofing. This protects your investment in the artwork.
Every project is priced individually after we see the wall and understand the design. We do not quote fixed per-square-foot rates for artwork because two walls of the same size can need very different amounts of work. The main factors are:

Drawing room and lounge: This is where guests form their first impression, so many families choose elegant designs such as calligraphy, floral panels, subtle damask stencils or a single statement wall behind the sofa. Keep the colours linked to your curtains and upholstery so the art feels part of the room rather than an afterthought.
Bedrooms: Softer palettes and calmer designs work best. Headboard walls with painted arches, botanical line art, mountain silhouettes or gentle ombré fades help create a restful space. Avoid very busy patterns on the wall you see when lying in bed.
Children’s rooms: Kids love themed walls — jungle animals, outer space, under-the-sea scenes, alphabets or their favourite colours. We use washable paints and can add a clear protective coat so crayon marks and fingerprints are easier to wipe away. Designs can be planned so they still suit the room as the child grows.
Entrances, staircases and corridors: These narrow areas suit continuous designs such as climbing vines, stencil borders, stripes that follow the stair line, or a family-tree wall with frames. They turn a passage into a feature.
Kitchens and dining areas: Choose designs that tolerate cleaning and some steam — herbs, fruits, tiles-style stencils or simple geometric colour blocking work well with scrubbable paints.
Hand-painted artwork is durable when the wall is dry and properly primed, but a little care keeps it looking fresh for longer. Dust the wall occasionally with a soft dry cloth or a feather duster, particularly after dust storms. For marks, use a soft cloth dampened with plain water or a very mild soap solution and wipe gently — never scrub with abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners, which can dull colours.
Keep an eye on the wall during and after the monsoon. If you notice new bubbling, white powder or dark spots near the bottom of the wall or close to bathrooms, it usually means moisture is entering from somewhere. Contact us early so the cause can be fixed before it spreads under the artwork. Strong direct sunlight through windows can slowly fade some colours over time; light curtains or blinds help protect artwork on sun-facing walls. If minor touch-ups are ever needed, we keep a note of the colours used on your project so repairs blend in neatly.
Whether you want a subtle decorative effect or a bold statement piece, Wellcool’s combination of surface-protection experience and artistic skill means your wall art is built on a sound base and painted to suit your taste.

Clear timelines
A simple accent wall or stencil border can often be finished in one to two days, including preparation. A detailed hand-painted scene may take several days because colours are built up in layers and each layer needs time to dry. We give you an estimated timeline after the site visit and design approval.
We do not recommend painting artwork over active dampness, because the paint will bubble and flake. We first find the source of the moisture, treat salts and let the wall dry. Where needed, we carry out seepage or waterproofing work before priming and painting the artwork.
Yes. We share sketches, reference images or a digital mock-up placed on a photo of your wall. You can request changes to colours, size and placement. Painting starts only after you approve the design, so there are no surprises at the end.
For indoor artwork we use quality acrylic and emulsion paints that are washable and low in odour, along with artist-grade acrylics for fine detail. For outdoor walls we use weather-resistant exterior paints. The exact products are chosen based on the wall, location and finish you want.
Most of our indoor artwork can be gently wiped with a soft damp cloth. In high-touch areas such as kids’ rooms, cafés and corridors, we can add a clear protective coat that makes the surface more washable and resistant to fingerprints and light scuffs.
Yes. Arabic and Urdu calligraphy and Islamic geometric patterns are among our most requested designs for entrances, lounges, prayer areas and offices. Share the verse, name or text you want, and we will propose a layout and lettering style that suits the space.
